Jugun Ianfu, Indonesian women subjected to sexual slavery by the Japanese military during World War II, is studied to raise awareness of gender inequality and human rights violations. The Project Based Learning model was implemented, involving 6th-semester students of the History Education Program at FIS UNY in writing historical essays using historical research methodology and gender analysis. The research steps include problem presentation, project planning, process monitoring, and evaluation. The study found that project-based learning from Jugun Ianfu's historical sources significantly improves students' competencies in historical analysis and gender understanding. Moreover, this approach is expected to enrich Indonesian historiography with a gender perspective and contribute to students' awareness of gender equality in history.
