As an emerging city toward becoming a megapolitan, Jakarta is experiencing tremendous change. The development endured since its early founding, at the time of Jan Pieterzon Coen in 1619, until recently brought an incredible change to its morphology and structure. The development of Jakarta is conducted not only by providing political and economic facilities but also social and cultural life—however, the rapid progress leaves or veils such advantages of social facilities, i.e., planetariums. Built at the time of Soekarno’s rule and once served as a city landmark of Jakarta, it seemingly has been forgotten. Its contribution plays an important role for Jakarta people and their surroundings, especially for the students, as a means of recreation, entertainment, education, and science. Its development needs a lot of Jakarta's societal element touch altogether, not solely the burden of government. Therefore, their initiatives and support are important.
